hey guys, i have a 92 camaro rs that i just rebuilt for my daughter's 16 b-day. (she loves da muscle cars) it has run beautifully for about 6 months. Until yesterday when the little resistor fell or got knocked out of the key. The car has a 3.2 v-6 and all the threads i have seen referring to disabling the vats were for the bigger engines. Can I follow the same instructions? yellow wire from ignition switch connected to tan and white wire from gear selector?
any help would be appreciated as her b-day is today and i really wanted to be able to give her the keys and watch her drive off. thanks

 

Yes the vats system wiring is the same, so the instructions will apply to your V6 car without issue.

 

or you can just go to the dealer and get a new key.... for about 40 bucks

 

ok, i found a large diameter yellow wire but can't find the tan and white one. is it with the flat harness under the steering column? hhhhheeeeeelllllppppp!!!!!

 

I wouldnt touch that yellow wire. Thats for the air bag.
