Power window singularity?! Is this a relay?
I swapped doors for the power windows and locks ect, also because one of my original doors was smashed in, it was a crazy old lady. The power setup came from an 82 trans am, I installed everything into my manual door 87 formula and the stupid windows worked twice, then quit. I checked for continuity and for voltage drops, and cracked wires, the system shows everything is as it should be, only the windows will not work. If you cut the wires and run 12v straight to the window motor, the window works beautifully. Its been greased, both switches are new-ish and have been checked, now here is the million dollar question, Directly underneath the fuse box is a coffee cup sized silver box that is screwed into the car chasis and all of the wires going to the window motor come out of this mysterious THING. In another car i would say for sure that it is a relay for the power windows, I was told, and confirmed by searching on here that f-bodies did not have relays! I cannot figure this out. I will post a picture of the silver relay like object tomorrow. Could this be an older style circuit breaker? Does any other thirdgen have this thing or is it just mine, meaning that these came from something else GULP
