Reverse Light Toggle Switch
I found the connector by the shifter that has the reverse lights, blue and green. I put in a b&m mega shifter, and it only has one switch, not 2, which the neutral safety switch is plugged into. I have to order one, from summit which will take like 2 weeks. Is there any way to make a toggle switch to run my reverse lights?
today i used my old toggle switch i used for my electric fan to wire it up. i put the blue (12v) and a ground and it didnt work, then i put the greena nd blue together thinkin when i hit the off switch it would shut them off, because when i tie the green and blue wires together the reverse lights stay on constantly. But it kept blowing fuses everytime i put one in.
Anyone know the correct way to put in a toggle switch please help.

Re: Reverse Light Toggle Switch
If you keep blowing a fuse, you are creating a direct short with your switch wiring. Sounds like you have the ground, black, on one side of the switch and both the blue and green wires on the other side.
Try this, and you should be able to get a switch at any auto parts or radio shack store.
Or fix you wiring to match the sketch. You can use an ohmmeter to check the contact action of your switch to get it hooked up correctly.
The lights will be off in the open position and on in the closed position. Switch type is SPST, Single Pole Single Throw (spelling wasn't to great on the sketch)

ok i figred it out, i didnt use the blue wire at all.
i took the green wire, screwed that into the switch, then i took a piece of wire and wired directly to the battery and put that on the other end of the switch and works great.
wohooo.

Unfused power wire connected directly to the battery. A very good way to start a fire if you have a short.
