Which relay is the MAF one on the firewall?
Hi, I have replaced the relays all three of them on my '87 IROC-Z, two were the same, and the other one was different, I know which one it is, but what number relay is it? I still have the originals I changed on my IROC, so that's what I went off for the replacement of the one on the firewall of my '89 Formula 350.
In my formula, there are two, on the other side of where the battery is, the passenger side(where the battery is located in a Camaro) those two, are the same. And since I had two relays that were the same on my Iroc, I figured that those were the same types.
The one on the Firewall, was a different number than the other two on the passenger side. And is not a seal type connector relay. While the Firewall one, is a non-seal type connector; that one that was different from my Iroc, said "Maf Power" on it. So I guess that was the one I needed to have, and bought that one from a Napa.
This is my Formula that hasn't been running since Sept '03, when I took it apart. It will be soon. I have some new pics on my site.
The heads are on it, torqued up. And I put the roller lifters back in it, of course they were in Oil for more than a day, so load that oil pocket. I put the drivers side roller rockers on, the 1.6 ratio'd ones brought them to zero lash, and started with a 1/4 turn, until I have it running, to load them more. Comp cams recommends only a half turn, even with stock roller lifters. So I have the driver side finished, then I will do the passenger side Friday, and put on the awesome valve covers, and get the rest of it back together.
Let me know what you guys think about the relays, and which are what in your cars, I'd appreciate it. The two on the passenger side, are originals, the firewall just has the Napa one now, same as my Irocs factory
one. Thanks
