Headlight motor mystery
Here in the uk recently we had a bad flood, and my firebird had no choice but to drive through some of the water, since this the headlamps wont go up or down, the only resistance i can feel is when i push the **** on top down or up, since this ive had the motor appart taken the side cover off to access the electric connector block, i tried 12v to each of the 3 contact wires, nothing...
theres a U shaped metal piece inside with 2 connectors on it, once on of the contacts is pushed towards where the + or - contacts are, the motor spins, its really baffling me so any input would be great, all relays seem fine, i would think that a 12v source to the motor would at least make it spin.

Re: Headlight motor mystery
I've had problems like this before too... As long as the motors still work (fight you when you try to manually turn the ****) the trick is to fully remove all components from the motor and put them back in. That's it.
Worked for me atleast...

Re: Headlight motor mystery
found out the problem with this, if anyone else has this trouble its the internal contacts, does anyone know if these can be replaced or is it easier to find another motor?
