were would the oil pressure sender be on an 87 gta with a tpi engine. i cant get my oil pressure gauge to work i carbed the motor and pulled out the computer wiring. was the plug for the oil pressure sender in the tpi wiring harness? what should i do?? i'm thinking of taking the brown wire that comes off the gauge and putting that to a single (1 wire ) oil pressue sender any thoughts??

I assume that the setup on you '87 would be the same as my '86 and if it is, the oil pressure sender is/was located behind the intake by the distributor. There's an L shaped unit that was threaded into the back of the intake and a connector on the top of the unit as well as the side of the unit.
Since you changed out the intake to go to a carb then you don't currently have an oil pressure sending unit. You'll need to get one designed for a carbed engine. I don't imagine you care about keeping things stock since you changed to a carb so I would recommend installing a mechanical oil pressure gauge since they are more accurate than an electric gauge.
