Electrical Nightmare

In advance sorry for the long post, Anyway Whoever did the engine swap on my car before I bought it srewed up the wiring. When I step on the brake pedal my parking lights come on. And when I select to have only my parking lights on my brake lights are on even though my foot is not on the brake pedal. Also My coolant temp guage does not work. It will move around sometimes but it stays in one spot like at 110 even though the scan tool says its 220 degrees. My fuel guage doesn't work either. Its pegged past the full mark and will not move.

Re: Electrical Nightmare

Check the bulbs installed in the brake lights. They should be two-filament bulbs. If single filament bulbs are installed it will jump the brake and parking lights as you are describing.

Also, your fuel gauge problem is due to an open in the sending circuit.
