my question is just as the title reads- on my car, a 1991 firebird trans-am WS6 with the standard dash (not digital), does the fuel gauge have a low fuel warning or indicator of some sort? a light? does the car bong or beep? anything? i've gotten pretty low and haven't been warned and i must admit i'm bitter...

 

No, these cars were built back in the days when people were expected to read the gauges for themselves.

i got a universal painless wiring harness and auto meter guage.. the thing goes haywire when it hits the "E".. just jumps E to F, E to F.. then pins itself to F..

*shrug*

 

The berlinettas come with a warning light. It also tells you if you are low on coolant, or washer fluid.

I had one on my ole Ford too. The GM engineers just ain't smart enough for something like that.

If you REALLY REALLY wanted an indicator, you could make one yourself. Actually, even with almost no knowledge or electronics, you could buy this "black box" where you set the threshold and hookup an LED to it, it can be that simple.

Dang, now I need to find the link to that funny kit.
