Computer Software for Engine Management

Wondering where I can find the software and USB connector to interface my laptop with my ECM. I just want to be able to view all the sensor readings and make adjustments if possible. I know they have hand helds that do this, but am looking to possibly same money by picking up software and a connector and just using my own hardware (my laptop). any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Check out the DIY PROM board, in the stickies, and also the tech articles on this site. As part of the intro to doing your own proms, they mention which scan tool programs you can use.
