Re: Heater blower upgrade?

Depends, do you have just heater, or AC too. The heater blower sucks (ironic sentence). It just sorta lets the air pour out of the vents. However, the AC blower motor in my '89 blows like a bat out of hell (compared to the heater only motor). If you don't use AC, you can remove the evaporator and block off the big hole left. However, I've never heard of anyone having an eye watering blower motor here ... yet.

Re: Heater blower upgrade?

well that sucks i might have to rig something up, i have AC, and as far as i know its the stock blower motor. My AC is cold, and my heat is hot, but on the lowest setting I cannot even fell any air coming out, and on High it fells like a newer car on low. It goes threw all the modes, 1-2-3-4 I can hear the fan speeding up, but it just dont blow much of anything.

A motor which is inching toward 20 years old and has turned thousands of revolutions. A new OE motor will surprise you--at least it did me.

Re: Heater blower upgrade?

I had the exact same problem on the 88' i just bought. Turned out the motor and fan that were in it were the wrong one. It was turning the wrong direction. Went to Napa and got the correct motor and fan. When I compared the fan blades to the old i noticed they were opposite. Installed the new setup and everything is working fine.
