Re: Power Window not Working?

Take the passenger window switch off and put the driver side window switch in its place. Turn the key and try it, if it works then the passenger side window switch is bad. If the window still doesn't go up then your passenger window switch is fine and your window motor probably burnt out.

i replaced both my window motors in my Firebird.

Re: Power Window not Working?

double check your grounds could be as simple as a bad or loose ground

The Power Window wiring diagram for 1982 Camaros shows one ground connection for both power windows located inside the driver's side door. I am not sure where inside the door, but you will likely have to remove the door trim panel to get to the ground.

The ground is ONE black wire from each power window switch to the gorund point. The ground point will be one screw with boht wires under it. Each wire will have a terminal lug for the screw to go through and connect the circuit to the metal door frame.

I had to hammer those rivets off and replace them with nuts and bolts. It worked well.

Re: Power Window not Working?

'85 power windows diagram is the same as the '85 camaro in the tech articles (also '86 on there, should be the same though 84 through at least 89)...one ground underneath the center console and two power wires...one solid pink i think and one pink with white stripe. dark blue and brown is going into your driver door window motor from the driver side switch and light blue and gray is going into your passenger door window motor from the passenger side switch. But the ground is the two black wires coming from the two switches underneath the center console for '84 to '89 that i can speak from experience, i can't speak on '83 and down or '90+ with the interior change, maybe someone else on here can clear that up if it's the same.

As far as those rivits, they are a lot easier to drill out if you had a drill and drill bits, lol. Only issue with nuts and bolts are they apparently come loose after a while. I don't know i'm in the process of doing a manual to power conversion and i may get stuck doing the nuts and bolts thing.
