grounded ECM

What happens when you connect the A and B terminals on the diagnostics plug (to get the code off the ecm) then start the car the repair manual says do not start the car while the A and B are connected, does it burn any fuses? wires? ecm? thanks

Re: grounded ECM

Nothing is burnt or damaged. It's just not recommended to drive longer distances in this mode since it doesn't control the engine properly.
