Power Door Locks
My 92 RS has power windows and locks.
When I use my alarm remote the locks don't totally engage all the way.
Does anyone have any ideas that may be the fix to this?

Re: Power Door Locks
Probably the door latches need to be taken out and lubed.
It's also possible that whoever installed the alarm, instead of putting its door unlock contact in the circuit that works the RELAY that then works the solenoids, put it in the HIGH CURRENT wire such that the alarm now carries the full solenoid current; meaning, the little weenie contacts in the alarm are probably smoked by now.

Re: Power Door Locks
I'd agree with sofakingdom that it's possibly the mechanical part of the door locks. I had the same problem, had to press the doorlock button several times to lock the doors. Fixed it by cleaning and lubing the door locks. Works like a charm now.
What happens when you press the buttons on the door? Do the locks engage all the way? Both ways?

Re: Power Door Locks
Ah, the latches.... prepare for some SERIOUS enjoyment.
Take off the door panels; unhook the linkage from it that hooks to the outside door lock, the inside door lock, the solenoid, the outside door handle, and the inside door handle; remove the 3 big screws, either Phillips or Torx, I forget which, in the end of the door. Soak the assembly in solvent overnight. Lube it with synthetic grease like Mobil1; move every piece of it, and watch where the parts rub, and make sure you get it ALL lubed.
Sounds easy, doesn't it?
Make sure you have several 6-packs of technician attitude adjustment compound on hand.

Re: Power Door Locks
Also while you have ur door card off look up into the door towards the inside of where the outside handle is...press the lock/unlock and atch the rods move, I am gonna bet urs is like mine where there was excessive play.
That means the movement of the actuator is lost, therefore not moving the lock pin all the way....
I spent $50 and hours replacing the actuator to THEN figure out it was the rods that I have since fixed with a zip-tie!!!
(if it is rods, don't do the zip-tie up TOO tight it will make the key hard to turn...)
