charging battery in car

hey everyone,My car sits alot and every winter I deal with starting it every few days to keep my battery good(new interstate).Cant I hook a charger to it while its in the car hooked up.I have heard both its best to be out of the car and its fine doing it in the car hooked up.I dont wanna deal with a computer reset everytime I wanna drive it up the street and back so Id rather not unhook the battery.has stock electronics and motor(lg4).So whats the deal.thanks

Re: charging battery in car

Just get a battery tender. Everyone should own one if they don't drive their car often.

Re: charging battery in car

I had the SEARS version of this one in my car when I was still in the Navy. Left it connected in the car always, plugged it in when I was deployed. Worked like a champ.
