hey guys i gave a 89 camaro rs with a 305 currently it wont start when i turn the key i get nothing no lights, sound crank nothing it was having trouble and my buddy touch the starter and it work great i know the battery is good checked that 13 volts the starter is brand new and when my buddy tried the starter again it just clicks i get nothing so ihad it towed home and the next morning it started up perfect all day it worked then today leaving to go to work and nothing and it still wont start just wondering if anyone has any ideas thanks so much Joe

 

CHeck all connections at the starter. Check the ground wire going from the battery to engine block. Make sure everything is tight & is corrosion free. Your buddy touched the starter - did he hit with something or just touch it? That's why it sounds like something is loose to me. You can also have a fusible link going bad - no lights usually means no power coming from the fusible link on the starter.
Do a thorough inspection of wiring & check for power on both sides of your fusible links - wiggle wires while checking for power.
