88 camaro IrocZ has no electrical what so ever...

ok so before i catch unholy amounts of flame for being the newbie. yes i have searched. I have verified that the battery is good (its brand new). ive checked all the usual suspects as to why it wouldnt have electrical. battery cable connections are fine and corrosion free. battery reads 12.92 volts so its fine. starter is also brand new.

I cant find any blown fuses but the only fuse box i could find was hte one under the steering wheel, i looked high and low in the engine bay and it must be hiding from me if theres a fusable link box.

I picked up a wiring diagram but i was looking for the fusable link closest to hte battery and couldnt find it. anyone got any ideas? pictures would also be a huge help if possible.

The fusable links come off of the starter and supply power to the car. I would check there.

yeah i tried following some of the wires back and i didnt find anything. are the fusable links the things that look like giant oval relays? i unplugged the harness on them and those dont have any +12v. where is the fusable link down towards the starter? is it that black oval thing that has 2 wires goin in and 2 going out, ones orange and one is black?

also, i dont think i mentioned there is no power in the vehicle what so ever, dome lights, headlights absolutely NOTHING.

have fun with your fusible links, they are about 3 inches off of your starter stud, give or take the possiblity of 3 of them, they should be burnt looking, but in my past little experience with them, mine looked perfect and it was still shot, only way to test is looking at those cylinder looking things and taking a volt meter and stab the insulation before and after the fusible link to make sure you get battery voltage. Also check the starter stud to make sure the fusible link going to the starter isn't shot.

Like speedboatermrfi said...check your main battery ground, that is also a possibility, uninstall your battery, uninstall your ground cable to the frame of the car, clean, possibly lightly sand the mount to the frame, clean the terminals for the positive and negative terminals for the battery, and try all that.

I'm backing up the fusible links but definally check your gound to your battery, it would save a lot of time from crawling around on the ground by your starter.
