wires galore...

Im planning on putting in a new wiring harness soon im my engine bay. Mys spliced together and crap like that so im just wanting to replace everything. Plus the cars nearly 20 years old it could probably use it.

I want an engine bay wiring harness that has everything. Meaning all wires in the engine bay. Every single one. One for all engine functions, headlights, horn,... what ever.. Everything.

Do they make one like this? or would i need to go custom. Also... were to get one and what price range?

Or would it be cheaper to have a shop do it if there even willing to do that.

This is definitely not the way to go for cost. Custom wiring will cost you $60-100 per hour for as many hours as it takes to do.

If I were you, I'd get a factory wiring diagram and clean up the wires yourself. Just be neat with your solders. Clean and label every wire.

I think it's a lot cheaper than buying a Painless kit or paying somebody to do it. All it takes is a little bit of patience, some willingness to learn, and a lot of time.

I don't know that there is one source that will show you everything. I have the shop manual for my 82 and it has the wiring diagrams. However they are broken down by system, i.e the headlights, interior lights, engine sensors, etc. What it dose not show is what wires are run in what harness under the hood. I also have the factory assembly manual for the 82 Camaro and it shows where the various harnesses are routed under the hood and where connections are made to the sensors, AC , Lights etc.

You probably could use your existing harnesses to figure out what is routed where, but if you don't have some of the options it may not be obvious which harness the wires are bundled in.

I think you can get a shop manual for your model year at

www.helms.com for $150.00 or so. ( not sure if the link is correct)

I don't know if a factory assembly manual is available for your model year. I got my off ebay for $25.00 or so if I remember correctly.

Re: wires galore...

i would suggest going to a salvage yard and finding a car exactly like yours and ask them if you can remove the harness yourself....that way you can clip the the pigtails off of the other side of somethings you may need as well and it will help you remember where to put everything. salvage yards will probably charge you between 50 to 100 bucks.
