warning lights

hello...i am very new with firebirds, i just bought one about an hour ago....i have an 87 plain jane firebird with a carbed 305. i was just wondering if anyone could tell me what warning lights are on the instrument panel. i have one that is always on with two lines with a dot in the middle, what in is this light? there are three other lights that do not come on when i start the car so i was just wondering what those might be..... i havent had time to buy a book for it yet even though a chilton/haynes probably wont tell me that anyway.. thanks in advance

Re: warning lights

That sounds like the choke light, indicating the choke is not getting any voltage. This could be due to a faulty C/H fuse or a faulty alternator.

Re: warning lights

The C-H fuse is in the fuse panel on the driver side - usually 20 amps
