HELP! on an '86 SC

I'm sorry if this isnt' the right fourm, but idk what the problem is soo...

ok, my '86 hasn't been running for a while and we havn't been able to pin point what's wrong, and we don't want to send it to a shop cause that's where the problems began...

it started it fine in about october.. then i went to start it to drive in about 2 weeks after.. and it wouldn't start at all.. no power no nothing.. so we threw a battery charger on it and let it charge, battery was fully charged and still no power, i turn the key nothing, turn on the lights, nothing.. the fuel pump doesn't even buzz when i turn the key, no inside lights..

i've had the car since '05, and my uncle's owned it since it was new... car ran fine.. needed a new clutch, i didn't know what i was doing 100% and my grandpa tore his rotater cuffs (idk if i spelled t hat right) so he couldn't go do it himself, so we sent it to a shop, and the people there said they went to start it and it poped under the hood and smoke came out.. so they kept it longer.. and i finally got it back and had it for a month or so, and it started fine after i got it back.. then outta no where that happened to me.. anyone have any advice on what i need to fix it?

I don't know if this is your exact problem, but I would check all the connections for your battery cables.
The ground from the battery to the block, and the positive cable from the battery to the starter. If those check out good, then check all the wiring that connects to the starter.
Hope that helps

ok,are all the connections good connections?
Sometimes crap gets built up on the connections that you can't see.
If yes, check the other wires at the starter. You may have a bad fusible link.

A bad fuseable link will look perfectly normal to the eye many times. MOve the cable a little and it causes a "good" connection again - for a little while anyway !
