GTA digital dash - Will it work with a MAP TPI computer?

Just wondering if anyone knows if I can use a digital dash with a MAP computer and TPI? How does this question come about? 1987 GTA parts car - no motor, digital dash, 1989 builder, good body, sliced up harness and pirated injection, 1991 parts car, runs and drives, mint interior, somebody bent it unloading it off the truck.

Any ideas would be appreciated, I know the dig dash is a PITA, but it's still damn cool.

I would think so, but I'm not 100% sure. As far as I know, all of the electronics to run the digital gauges are located in the cluster itself. The dash and gauge cluster plugs are different though, so you would need an entire donor car. Also, the body wiring is different, it is resistance matched, so the car information center can determine if a bulb is out. Also, you'd need to add a coolant level sensor, and wiper fluid level sensor. In short, I'm sure it could be done without modification, but you would basically need an entire donor car to pull all the required parts from. If your parts car GTA has all of the required wiring, it might be worth a shot.

Thanks for the reply. I figured it might be possible. And yes, I have a complete donor. How do you like your digital dash? The look really nice, but I hear a lot of complaints about them.

I haven't had much time with it yet, I just got the car a couple of weeks ago, and I'm still working on fixing it up. As far as I can tell everything works fine on it, but I picked up a spare at the junkyard just in case. To be honest, I would probably swap in the analog gauges if it were a bolt in deal, but since it's not, I'll keep the digital ones. The only upgrade I'd like to do to them is to replace all of the bulbs in it with LEDs. I might try and change the colors of them eventually as well.
