3rd Gen - VAT Bypass
Just wanted to pass along some feedback....
The article listing how to bypass/disable the VAT worked AWESOME!!!!
I was at my local parts store and I came out and the Security light on my dash stayed on and the starter would not engage.
I walked 15 mins for a ride... and about 30 mins later returned; and now the car started - WHEW... at least I got it home. (Maybe spilling coffee on the keys had something to do with the failure as well; if coffee can affect the resistance)
I immediately went to Rad-Shack and got the resistors and put together my jumper.
I got to plug it in today and BAM!!! Worked like a charm.
No more VAT and now I can get regular keys cut!!!
Thanks again everyone,
Steve C - RI
