Manual Fuel Pump Switch. Right Direction.
Due to the fact that I am getting no power from my fuel pump relay. I want to install a manual fuel pump switch. I know I cannot just run constant power to the fuel pump because I would ruin the fuel pump and kill the battery. If I run the fuel pump to a power source that is active(hot) only when the key is in the on position. The fuel pump would constantly run when the key in the on position. The happy medium for me would be to have a manual switch that only get power when the key is in the on position allowing me to control the pump.
Correct if I am wrong on the setup.
Wire from fuse box (that is only hot when ignition is on) to Manual switch
Power out from manual switch to fuel pump (+).
Ground to switch.
Could I just disconnect the relay in the harness?

Re: Manual Fuel Pump Switch. Right Direction.
i would like to know the same thing. im doing a 88 350 tpi swap into a 90 v6 firebird and the 87 harness i picked up has no fuel wiring in the engine harness. Would this be the best way to get the fuel pump to work? id really rather not have to run wires from the bulk head to where ever its suppose to go... also makes no sense cause it came off a TPI engine.
