Wiring HAL effect VSS Sensor correct?

I'm using an autometer HAL effect VSS sensor in my TKO600. That sensor only has 1 output lead unlike my original 91 harness having 2 (purple / yellow). I've brought the sensor lead from my HAL VSS to the input of my Dakota SGI-5 box. The output of my SGI-5 box is now wired to the purple (VSS HIGH) lead on the harness. Anyone know if this is good? My guage reads fine but tunerpro reads either 0 or 1 MPH....
