AIR select valve on my 84
i am trying to find a place to wire my heated 02. i want the element to shut off upon entering closed loop. which wire is hot on theair select valve? pink w/black stripe or solid brown? i am hoping it is the pink one b/c there is 2 brown wires in that harness. thanks for ur help.

The pink/black wire is hot with ignition on, and the ECM pulls the brown wire to ground to activate the AIR select solenoid. It's the same brown wire that goes to terminal C in the ALDL connector.
With a 4-wire O2 sensor it might be possible to wire it in directly, but I don't know how much current it draws and if the solenoid is activated in closed or in open loop.
So your best bet is to put a relay in place of the AIR solenoid.

thats the reason i wanted to use the air select valve. it comes on when the car is running in warm up and shuts off when the o2 reaches its temp.
iam goin to buy a Chiltons today after work. i've been putting it off for no real reason. so i'll confirm it is the correct wire.
