Weird of loss of power problem...
Yesterday, while driving I took a look at my guages and my battery was below 13V while at highway speed. A minute later the volts were rapidly decreasing all the way to below 8V. None of my guages were working and the infl rest warning was on in the dash. My radio was also turning off and on. The voltage had gotten low before but never like that. I always thought it was because of my underdrive pulleys because I heard they cause charging problems. After about ten minutes of driving the voltage went back up to just above 13V.
I removed my radio just to make sure that wasn't the problem.
However, today the samething happened while on the way to work. When I got in the parking lot the car died.
I have a brand new 140amp alternator less than two months old.
By the way engine is an LT1. I don't see any loose grounds and messed up wires.
Could the underdrive pulleys be causing this problem. Any suggestions would help. I will have the alternator tested today.
Thanks,
Jay

Had the alternator tested. Result was low charging volts. The wire coming of the back of the alternator was alittle burned. I changed the wire and everything seems to be working properly. I will monitor it for a while though.
