Help ! Hatch wont latch - motor wont rise
Help ! Hatch wont latch - motor wont rise
Hello , does anyone know if there is a fuse for the hatch pull-down motor? My hatch was closed with a piece of a broom handle slightly sticking out of the left corner- i was able to open it with my key, but the latch mechanism did not rise back up - not sure if the motor is getting power - also a few weeks ago the inside/ console switch to open the hatch stopped working - replaced the switch - but still wont work -Thanks

Sounds like your motor is bad. On the motor assembly there should be switch that activates the motor. Try pressing the switch and listen for a clicking. There is a relay in the back not sure where but close enough you should hear it clicking. If it is then your getting power to the switch, mine did the same thing just ended up having a bad motor. Hope this helps you out.

try disconnecting the negative battery cable and then opening the hatch, it wont need the motor to open then leave the hatch open and then re-connect the negative battery cable and the motor should rise

Thanks for your responce, there does not seem to be any power - no noises - found the relay, but i am unsure how to check to see if it is good. Guess i need to find a wiring diagram to check for power next - Thanks!

Thanks for your reply,I did try disconnecting the negative cable today, but the motor still wont rise - seems to have no power - cant find any blown fuses - and i am not sure how to test if the motor is getting power? Thanks!

you can also try using those things that kinda look like screw drivers but the have a little point to poke throught the rubber part of the wire to touch the inside wire and i think it lights up if there is power, but you might just need a new motor, ill look at mine tomorrow and see if i can find a way to check for power to the motor
