Drivability/Start up issues after engine harness replacement.

Whats up? I've aready done a search and found nothing regarding my situation. Any way I have an '89 GTA and about a week ago, I had a friend replace my entire engine harness which was a P.O.S. btw, with one from an '88 GTA and to be honest he had to transplant quite a few clips b/c I found out the hard way that the weren't compatible . My car ran really sluggish and would barely move until it caught speed after various complete stops while driving it home that night from my freind's and now its current condition is that it only cranks over and won't turn on. Yesterday while trying to pull some codes which I'm pretty sure it had, my C E light would not come on at all and it used to when I had my other engine harness on. I'd like to get this thing running good within the next few days (sux using my bros 87 honda ). Anyone know of some possible causes for my issue?? Thanks in advance!

Ok so I got the 'check engine' light problem fixed and the culprit was the f/p fuse by the battery that was blown; replaced it but it still just cranks over and wont turn on. I tried pulling the trouble codes but all I got was code 12 and nothing else. I've had a friend of mine time it before but overlooked the fact that the plug by the distributor has to be disconnected in order to time it properly. I'm going to have him stop by and time it tomorrow (the right way this time) and see what happens. Ill post up as I get this thing running smoothly.

Re: Drivability/Start up issues after engine harness replacement.

I had my friend come over today to re-time my car (with the E.S.T plug disconnected this time) and it looks like that did the trick on the startup issue. The drivability issue still exists though. When I accelerate, the car responds real sluggish and takes a while to catch speed. The mechanics who did my engine rebuild recently must of burnt my spark plug wires on the headers because there are mutiple arc ares present now, not to mention they used aluminum tape (i kid you not) to cover the exposed areas on the wires those dumb a****. I know for a fact that this issue with the wires causes drivability problems so I'm going to install a set of universal moroso utra 40 race wires tomorrow to see if drivability improves. I'll post up my results.
