Re: 1987 Firebird Formula 350 fuse for fuel pump

I actually just changed my oil pressure switch and ball sender lately, and somehow through the process my fuel pump quit working.

I couldn't get my car to start and couldn't even keep it running by manually energizing the pump.

Then i found out about this fuse you speak of...

It is located right next to the battery probably mounted on the fender. It looks like a clip going into a ground but its really the fuel pump fuse.

I'm sure it could be wired inline also, its easy to spot.

20 amp fuse

Also check your under-drivers-dash fuse panel for appropriate fuses and conductivity.

The fuse that also should be checked is on the top row, second from the left.

That particular fuse is a 10 amp.

Re: 1987 Firebird Formula 350 fuse for fuel pump

Good info.
Also, on some models, the fuse is on the passenger side fender regardless of the battery location (which is usually on driver side for Firebirds, if I'm not mistaken). That can confuse one when searching for the fuse.

Hope this helps.
