Repin 88 L98 w/ its orig Harness to work on 87 GTA?

Car: 1987 GTA Vert & 1991 GTA 5 Speed
Engine: 87 GTA-L98 91 GTA LB9
Transmission: GTA-700R4 & GTA T5
Repin 88 L98 w/ its orig Harness to work on 87 GTA?
Doing a swap already got L98 in 87 GTA which was orig 87 LB9. Have been warned not to crank car up becasue of diff pinning in harness from 87 to 88. How easy is it to switch pinning if it can be done?
Also have 88 PROM to go in also. Will VATS br an issue here?
