HELP!!!! Fuel Pump Issues
HELP!!!! Fuel Pump Issues
Ok I am in need of some serious help my fuel pump runs constantly and I have no idea why and trying to figure this out is really getting to be frustrating. Please don't tell me to look at the relay because I have pulled every relay there is under the hood and no matter which one I pulled the fuel pump still ran. I am at wits end trying to figure this out, it only stops running when I disconnect the battery or take the fuse out.
I tried starting it with the fuel pump the way it is but the car starts and dies but the fuel pump will shut off for a few minutes and start again.
The dashboard is completely out, would that have anything to do with it?

Re: HELP!!!! Fuel Pump Issues
Kinda hard to diagnose a problem when we don't know what we're working on. But let me perform a magic trick and pull this out of my hat: 1988 Camaro RS with a 2.8L V6.
How did I do?
Anyway, our engines have a backup fuel pump switch. I have no clue where it is on the V6 blocks but on the 1988 V8 blocks, it's right by the oil pressure sender on top back of the block (driver side). It should have an orange and tan/white wire. If this fuel pump switch (based on oil pressure) goes bad, it will keep the fuel pump running all the time. Try disconnecting it. If it helps, the switch is bad.
Hope this helps!
