1991 Speedo rollback possible?

Hi. I just bought a used speedo for my 91 RS that shows 127,000 miles. My original speedo shows 101,000. Is there any way to roll back the used one to match my original one? I don't want to be dishonest and take miles off my car. I just want to take it back to what my car actually has on it. Thanks.

With a little work you can take it apart and move the numbers. Be careful not to break anything. Alternatively, if you have access to a signal generator, or know how to wire a 555 switch (It's really really simple) you could put a pulse into your new speedometer and roll it forwards until it wraps around and then to 101,000.

Roll it forward all the way past 999,999? How long will that take? Can you tell me how to wire a 555 switch? Thanks.
