need help on alternator out of late 80s or early 90s camaro
Hello I have a 68 chevy truck that I put a 91 chevy suburban engine in. I also made the newer serpentine system work, but it didn't come with an alternator so I got one off of a either late 80s or early 90s camaro out of a junkyard to fit the bracket. I just have the positive and ground wire hooked up to it, and when I drive the car around the alternator does not charge the battery. The alternator has a connector with a brownish wire and a red wire on top of it, I am guessing those need to be hooked up to something but I don't know what. Any help on what each of these wires does and where they need to be connected to would great, thanks.

The red wire needs to be hooked up to the battery. That is the reference voltage.
The brown wire needs to be hooked up to a hot on run source.
