Heat/AC Wiring
So the Z28 is almost back on the road just have a few more things to bolt up and I'm ready to go. I took the AC off and fabbed a new heater box and I'm trying to clean up the wiring and Im not sure what all is required to make it work. All I want is defrost and heat and Id like to lose all the other wires so what ones do i need to keep and what can I trash?

Re: Heat/AC Wiring
Unless you only want one blower speed, on a manual switch, you will still need all the wiring out by the heater box. Atleast I think you will..
You'll need the blower resistors for speed's 1,2 and 3. Then you'll need the relay for high speed as it just provides full votage to the blower motor. Then you'll need the power/ground for the blower.
Now...you COULD just make it run on one speed...like on high. And just use the relay and eliminate the resistors. I dont really see a reason to do this though...the wiring isnt that intrusive over there.
Here is my set up...custom EVAP box, and dumbed down wiring. Its as minimal as I could have it. I removed all of the A/C related wiring. In fact...if I remember correctly, the only wire that I left was the light green wire that was on oen side of the low pressure switch for the a/c system. The rest was easily removed.

And because of my other modifications, this is the only hook up needed for my HVAC as far as power/ground.

The HVAC wiring is basically stand alone. So you give the system power, ground, and blower hook ups and the controls take care of the rest.
As far as only wanting defrost...again, you might as well just leave the system alone. Because the HVAC control uses one single vac supply line and works all the vents for defrost/vent/floor etc. Just not much reason to mess with that stuff.
If you have some more specific questions, I can try to help you.

Re: Heat/AC Wiring
Thanks I think I have figured it out. I guess I should have just asked which wires were the AC ones but I got it now......probably....lol
