Connector On High Pressure Steering Line??

Does anyone know what this connector is for? I was told ac cutout switch, but how does that have anything to do with the power steering?

I believe its for the cruise control on tbi cars. I don't know for sure,but I do know my old 87 tpi iroc didn't have it but my 88 305 tbi bird did.

Found out that it cuts the A/C when under high power steering pressure so the car dosen't stall.

It's the P/S high-pressure switch on TBI and V6 MPFI engines that signals to the ECM that the driver is holding the steering wheel in a lock (trying to explode the pump) and the ECM increases the idle speed to compensate for the extra load from the fuel pump.

Carbed engines or TPI cars don't have this switch.
