Temp. Sending Unit Melted

Ok so I went and bought a stock temp. switch for my 305 the one that shows up on the dash board. The one that is located below the exhaust manifold. Well anyways the bastard melted, basically looked like the previous one. Anyone have a solution to my problem? Cause I'd like to know my temp. eventually.

Re: Temp. Sending Unit Melted

I would imagine you have headers if it melted.
Either take them off and get a ceramic coating for them or get a header wrap for them.
