Anyone have 87 Shop manual?

I have something I need to verify that can only be found in the 87 shop manual. I have a 92 manual that deals with the integrated engine and EFI harness, however, I need to know the circuits running off the alternator connector for 87 as I am working with a harness from that year. Obviously, the 10-12 ga red wire in pin S is a fusible link. Then there is a brown that is a circuit I know, and finally there is a dark green (?) with a white stripe in the third position. I just need to check on these other two as to what circuits they belong to. If anyone has the Helm factory service manual for 87, please PM me so I can bounce a couple Q's off you. I appreciate it!

Dan

S - RED to Starter Solenoid, Battery

F – BRN/WHT (This is an Ignition switched ON controlled fused feed.) to “C” Cooling Fan Relay, to “B” Fuel Pump Feed, to “B” to “C” Secondary Fan Relay, to Choke Heater Relay, to ?

L – BRN to Voltage Regulator

Re: Anyone have 87 Shop manual?

mnorton,

Thanks for the info! Looking like this should shape up well for me. Another question though, if you look at the page for the charging system (VIN 8, in cell 8-30) where the generator graphic is displayed with all the leads and internals, does it show that pin F comes in, passes a resistor, then heads over to where L enters the regulator?

If that is even a vague "yes", then it would appear that it does not matter whether F or L is used to supply the reference signal to the regulator on the CS alternators - which should be the same through the years. The 92 wiring schematic does not use L for anything as they simply spliced off of F to run to the fan relay.

This means I will be able to reference through L off my guage circuit, which also has a resistor, and use the F pin in the future to supply a fuel pump relay. This is good stuff if I am right! TIA,
