bad switch?
bad switch?
91 formula..i had the car running turned on the headlights then the fog lights when all the lighting went out...ive checked the fusible links and the wire to the starter..the fuses arent blown...the cars starts and runs...i guess my question is would the headlight switch affect all the lighting..dome light guage lights headlight motors wont even pop up....the door locks and the windows work...

Re: bad switch?
It could also be the dimmer switch, the one in the steering column that switches between low-high beams. Power to the headlights goes through both of them. Do your high beams work? If not, then it pretty much has to be the headlight switch.
Re: bad switch?
well i put in a new switch..it worked for like 10 seconds....when i turned the key to start the car the starter clicked a few times and it came back on for a sec.. the battery doesnt have enough power to actually start the car but enough that the lights should come on...im stuck now....so i dont think i messed up the new switch cause it somewhat worked

Re: bad switch?
I would begin by isolating the different parts, and tying each one separately.
When you say you turned on your fog lights second, I assume this means they are an aftermarket kit. That would be the first thing I would take out of the equation. If they're done correctly (or stock) fog lights should come on with low beams via a relay.
The fact that the battery quit cranking after your initial post of "the car starts and runs" makes me think a bad relay, stuck in the energized position, or grounding out on itself.
My suggestion remains, isolate and test.

i put in a fresh battery...it isnt draining or anything...i found 3 relays.not sure which one it is...i dont know how to test them...if possible..i still have no juice and now the power locks quit working..would a relay control all the lights like that anyway?
