Horn Question

I have checked the fuse, relay, horn button connection, etc., and I can not figure out why my horn is not working. It seems pretty straightforward, but I can't seem to figure it out. Any ideas?

Re: Horn Question

Clean the terminals on the Horn(s) as well as the metal pins in the plug..... Then connect a voltmeter to ground and the horn wire and try the horn. If there is voltage than the horn should work.

If it doesn't work once you plug the horn back in - remove and re-install the bolt holding it to the frame. This bolt provides a ground for he horn.... if it still doesn't work - replace the horn(s) !

Re: Horn Question

Sounds like good info. What do you recommend cleaning the connections with...a scuff pad?

Re: Horn Question

Nope, nothing. I'm not getting any voltage from the green wire though...so I guess my search will go a little deeper.

Also, my windshield wipers are in the same boat...nothing...no power to the motor...the fuse on both of these are good, and the horn relay is new...is there something else that gthese run through?

Hmmm... Try running a jumper wire to the power connector on the horn, going to the positive battery terminal.

Re: Horn Question

Nothing technical to add... just that I had a similar horn problem once. Turned out the green wire was broken.

Re: Horn Question

Your horn button supplies the ground to the horn relay. There is no positive voltage to measure.
