Headlights

This almost should be in the History Forum.....

Tried to get a new sealed beam headlight today....Took me 4 stores to find my Silverstars. Granted, some stores had"standard" 6054s, but a couple had NONE, or only 1 or 2 different style sealed beams.

Pretty soo, we are gonna HAFTA get H4s or HIDs...That sucks.

I had /H4s & went back to my sealed beam Silverstars, so I might be on the hunt for H4 bulb housings, that are better than the POS ones I had....

Any recommendations on housings? I'd start with some H4 Silverstars & MAYBE go HID later.

Re: Headlights

ebay housing as the only ones ive found. I bought a set of 6054 housings for my 85 trans am and with in a year the chrome was peeling off the plastic. I recommend finding the h4 housings that have the cast aluminum backing instead of plastic.

Funny thing is.....That's why I had to replace one of my 2 yr old Sylvania Silverstar sealed bulbs....No more reflective backing...
See just the strip along the bottom? And that you can see my rug pattern THROUGH the back of the bulb? It wasn't exactly throwing ANY light forward.

Tanks...I'll consider those from Summit. Not buying right now, since I bought a new sealed bulb yesterday. Anybody here use those and KNOW they are good?
