Becoming a Nightmare

Ok heres the problem. I purchased a hatch pull down from a member here. I was told the hatch was working and when I recieved this the guides were not even there. I replaced the guides and bascially went through the assembly to cleaned or repaired anything I could find broke.

I then started to install the assembly and I am having troubles with getting it to move. I have reviewed several wiring diagrams but nothing works.

There are 2 wires that are on the relay 1 black and 1 white. I have no clue where they go. When power is applied to the red/white wire the black and white wires become hot. When the hatch is down the black wire is no longer hot. Is this normal and where do these 2 wires go?

I replaced the relay and checked the fuses and nothing seems to work. Could someone tell me what I need to do?

Also there is on the car side a yellow/black wire that is not hot and seems to do nothing. Does this go some where?

If someone has a better wiring diagram please let me know. I have tried alldata and that was a waste of money.

Please help!

Re: Becoming a Nightmare

The POSITIVE wire will be Blue or Red depending on the year of the hatch pull down. (The same moror was used for all 86-91 but theres a different "trigger" used. ) You should be able to put 12 volts to the Blue ( or Red) wire, then put Ground to the black wire and have an operational hatch motor in your hands.

If you use a screwdirver to act like the hatch latch than the motor should go up when the screwdriver is removed - and should go down when the screwdriver is used to push down the trigger. All you should have to do is connect power and ground and the hatch motor should work.

when I recieved this the guides were not even there.

That's not good,.................
