ECU Upgrade question??
OK I'm swapping my trans(700r4-t5) When ordering an ECU upgrade through JET it asks if its auto or stick. My Question is, since my ECU was made for an auto, would I have to get the JET for a manual or an auto. Maybe a dumb question. I'm just wondering cause I would think that computer wouldn't see the signal from an auto trans.

Re: ECU Upgrade question??
Don't quote me on this, I'm not an authority, but:
In principle you'll want the manual programming, and then you'll want a manual wiring harness for it since there are most likely (small) differences in signals & pinouts.
There may be workarounds so you won't need a whole new harness but others will have fill in on that.
Looking at both models wiring diagrams would reveal what (if anything) needs to be done.

Re: ECU Upgrade question??
Since you're putting in a manual transmission, you want a manual chip in the ECM.
Actually, there is no need to buy a whole new ECM. You can just buy a new manual chip and replace the automatic chip. It simply pulls out of the ECM.
Hope this helps.
