check the relay switch on the steering wheel column its white and when you flick the high beam lever it should click. i had that problem last month i got that replaced and its fine now plus check the female ends of the head light wiring harness they melt sometimes. lmk what you fine out

Is the dim headlight on the same side as the dim turn signal? It could be a weak ground. My 82 z28 has a ground at each headlight.

yeah check the ground if you take the inspection panel off of the fuse box you can see the white relay switch check that to see if everything is tight if not poke around with a test light and see where your ground is faulty

I'm inclined to go with RodRob it sounds like a faulty ground they often work loose or become corroded to the point that they no longer make a good connection. The problem is more prevalent in areas with alot of moisture. CHECK ALL OF YOUR GROUNDS!!! Use the process of elimination and I'm sure you'll find the problem...
