87 IROC underhood lamp (question)

My 87 IROC I just recently acquired seems to be missing the underhood lamp etc.. I remember my other 3rd gens I owned in the past having this light. I co uld be wrong though. I just recently stepped out of Corvette ownership for the past 10 years and back into 3rd gens again. Did IROC's ever come with them? I see a hole under the hood by the windshield where it seems one can be attached. What would it take to put one in place and wired correctly to work when opening the hood?

Yes. My 85 IROC is/was equipped with one. I always assumed (and you know what that means) that they were standard equipment. There should be two holes for the light itself just a bit off center on the pass side of the hood. The wiring has a connector and ground wire. Operates on a mercury switch.

My '87 has one.

I made the mistake of swapping the #93 bulb with an #1156 bulb in hopes of brighter light. It was brighter, but the 1156 got super hot. The insides got cloudy and it burned out in a matter of hours.

Ok guys. Now what can I do about this to get one in place with wiring? I don't have anything hooked up here. Wouldn't know where to start. The car was repainted as part of the restoration process before I got it. Seems they have removed it.
