hi i picked up this car last summer and dropped a carberated 350 sbc in it and i got it fired up and my fuel guage didnt work. So i began to pull the gas tank out and pull the sending unit and test it. The sending unit checked out good. I Cleaned all connections from the sending unit to the plug in it goes into.
I stuck it back on there and manually operated the float by hand. When i had the float topped out the gas gauge only read about 3/8 of a tank or so. And sometimes when the sending unit is unplugged and i turn the key over the gauge will peg out full. I dont really know what else i can check. Does anyone know anything about the voltage limiter? Or does anyone have a wiring diagram for the fuel gauge? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
