no power to pulldown unit

so ive done a bit of searching and not found the fuse for the pull down. im assuming its been cut out. since there are a few wires above the fuse block cut and taped. also. im trying to hook the switch up for the parking break. a tan wire. found a cut harness under the console.. 1 has power keyed on. not sure about the rest. orange gray and i think black. might be a 4th wire there not exactly sure. i just rebuilt the hatch motor with new guides and reinforced pice and new gear nut. adjusted far enough that the hatch locks. i am begining to dis like electrical gremlins.

Re: no power to pulldown unit

For your model year of Firebird the hatch pull-down fuse is not in the fuse panel. It is in a single fuse holder that was attached to the outside edge of the fuse panel. The hot wire coming from it is red with a white stripe. That fuse holder is slipped onto a dovetail on the outside edge of the panel. It can easily be slipped off, so if it isn't there you'll have to search under the dash near the fuse panel to locate it. It has a 15 amp fuse in it.

Re: no power to pulldown unit

found the red wire with the white stripe under the dash. as suspected its cut. no inline fuse. guess ill have fun figureing out where the other part of the wire runs from the hatch up to the block. does it run up the drivers side or console area?
