Mystery gizmo

I stumbled across this while I was replacing the heater core. What the heck is it? It can't be doing well, since it has melted a section of the connector.

Feel a bit ignored?

The part is the relay is for the automatic antenna. The only reason I know this is because 25 years ago, I wired a defeat switch into it to keep the antenna up, to reduce unnecessary wear on an expensive part.

Yes. Just a little! Really? My car never had a power antenna. Unless the previous oner took it out. Thanks.
