I am removing the engine from my Formula 350 and installing it in my 87 GTA. How do I get the 89 engine harness disconnected from the drivers side firewall? It looks like the engine harness is integrated into the same bundle as the rest of the wiring that goes in and out of the firewall. Do I just seperate the TPI wiring from this bundle? If so there is a tan/white wire and a red wire in the TPI engine harness that goes back into the friewall socket. Can I clip those?

The 89 ECM has VATS in it. Will this cause a problem since the 87 doesn't come with VATS? If so, why?

 

OK, I figure the VATS in the ECM is going to cause my injectors not to pulse. Can I use the VATS disable resistor trick at the ECM wiring? If so, what wires on the ECM do I splice the resistor into?
