headlight motor module/wiring issue.
Hello,
I'm having an annoying problem, I've been putting off putting in new headlight motors for awhile, i finally got a good deal on 2 brand new motors.
So i went to test them, and they both work, but not on the drivers side, no power was given to the connector, i tested it and yeah no power, the passenger side goes up and down freely.
I bought a used and tested headlight module off ebay from a guy with 600 feedback, he said he tested it twice and both headlights went up/down.
Now, I installed the newer module, now i get power to both sides, but the driver side is only getting power too engage it down, not up, it only spins when you hit the headlight "off" button.
I talked with someone who told me theres 2 hot wires for each motor that feed into the module, and theres a fusible link somewhere, but if either were bad, why are both motors getting power despite the issue on the drivers side, i know theres two modules for 86-89 and 91-92, so i could have the wrong one, however they're identical? maybe both years look identical just have different internals, he said it was for 86-89 tho.
Maybe he lied and it's just another bad module, it's hard to tell, any ideas? new ones cost $250 or so and i don't want to risk that if it doesn't work.
Also, the car is a 88 formula.

Re: headlight motor module/wiring issue.
The 1987-89 model year used one module. The 90-92 (actually all the way through 2002) used another. You were sold the wrong module.

Thanks for the info.
I'm just curious tho, how do you know it's not a 87-89? the symptoms i showed above? it's just a really annoying issue and i can't wait tell it's fixed.
