Re: fusable wire
The fusible links don't fail intermitantly. They just pop. You have to unhook the harness from the starter and pull it up topside to work on it. The links are within a couple inches of the end terminal.
Are you having trouble with the starter? What exactly is it doing?

Re: fusable wire
we had troulbe with the starter siloniod(not spelled right) and replaced it twice...the car starts here and there but when u get underneath the car and start it manually it always fires. the battery is in the truck theres a 2gauge positive that runs all the way to it and the ground is mounted to exhaust bracket and the also a negative from the block to the battery tray upfront. the new siloniod is in. just a lil info. it will fire when done underneath the car..the siloniod wire has a kill swith too it and the first part of the wire that comes off the steering coluim is fine and the second part (cut into 2 cuz of kill switch) we went straight from the witch to the siliniod and started fine

Re: fusable wire
Does it always start fine when cold? Heat adds resistance.
If you jump your kill switch (twist the wires together) does start fine then?
