All MSD ignition has no spark....
Drove my camaro to lunch today and was only inside for about an hour. Came back out to start it up and go back to work and BAM!!! no start. Here is the breakdown of my ignition system...
MSD Street Pro Billet Distributor

MSD Blaster Pro HVC Coil

MSD 6AL Ignition Box( forget the hat in the photo please lol!)

Ok where do I start. I confirmed no spark at the spark plug wires. Then I tested the coil and found no spark at the coil either. Per the MSD installation and troubleshooting guide, I took the coil wire off of the distributor, put it near ground, and then used a jumper wire to short the violet and green wires of the magnetic pickup on the MSD box side. When you un-jumper the wires, there should be a spark from the coil. I had none. I removed the coil from the car, and ohmed it. I came up with .3 ohms, telling me that the coil has continuity. I put my coil in a friends car(that used the same coil as I have) and his car starts and runs with my coil. I know that the distributor is not the issue because the shorting and unshorting of the violet and green wires is a manual simulation of the magnetic pickup in the distributor so it was taken out of the loop. Next I moved on to the MDS box itself. I have battery voltage at the heavy red. I have a good ground. I have power at the 12v switched red wire. The black and orange go to the coil, and the white wire I use as a kill switch, which is not currently engaged or otherwise grounded. When I attempt to start the car, I do get a tach signal. Is there any more in depth testing that can be done with the 6AL box or is it pretty much a shoe in that it's bad? I am wondering if the *primary* ignition coil/circuit is located in the box itself. Maybe it is something with the magnetic pickup portion or the coil output wiring(but internal of the box) Got any suggestions or opinions??

Re: All MSD ignition has no spark....
Got off of the phone with MSD technical assistance and I told then what was going on. They pretty much confirmed my suspicion, that the box itself went bad. Looks like a trip to the parts store to pick up another 6AL box....
